Follow the next island task
Official badges record the Island 1 Fish Index and unlocks for Island 2 and Island 3. Starter footage also shows the first boat journey to Island 2.
Before leaving the first island
Treat the opening island as a series of small tasks: sell clams, buy the Iron Fishing Rod, then learn to catch, defeat and sell fish. It then introduces Normal Bait and Bloxy Cola Bait before the Spider Crab objective.
- Complete the first catch-and-sale tasks.
- Finish the named bait objectives.
- Complete the Spider Crab task.
- Keep the Crab Body for the Lighthouse Keeper; delivering it is the Special Delivery objective.
The Island Naturalist badge separately asks you to finish the Island 1 Fish Index. This guide does not establish it as a travel requirement.
Follow the boat objective across the water
When your next objective calls for the boat, head toward the lighthouse and follow the task marker to it. The route across the water is marked by a yellow objective trail. Use your active marker to navigate rather than copying a compass direction from an old screenshot.
- Check that your current task is sending you to the boat.
- Check hunger before starting the crossing.
- Ride the boat and follow the active trail toward Island 2.
- Confirm arrival by checking the new island task.
If you are still being sent to an NPC or catch objective, finish that task before sailing farther.
Your first tasks on Island 2
The wooded second island has another shop area. The tutorial first asks for Small Burrito Bait and a catch using it, then advances to buying a pistol or shotgun. A later bait task introduces Big Burrito Bait. Read the task before buying supplies so the next purchase has a clear purpose.
- Find the Small Burrito Bait task and complete its catch.
- Follow the weapon-purchase objective when it appears.
- Continue the island’s active sequence before looking for the next crossing.
Island Hopper I tracks unlocking Island 2. A badge can help you check progress, but it does not replace the current quest instructions.
What is confirmed about Island 3?
Island Hopper II is an official badge for unlocking Island 3. The Piranha Boss also has a defeat objective, but this page does not yet give a complete Island 3 unlock walkthrough. Continue from the task actually shown on your screen.
- Continue following the active tasks on Island 2.
- Check NPC instructions when a task calls for a hand-in.
- Use an explicit onward-travel objective when it appears.
A full Island 3 walkthrough, its travel direction and required purchases are not established here.
